Music Therapy and the NDIS

Music Therapy is funded by the NDIS

Yes, the National Disability Insurance Scheme recognises music therapy under the Therapeutic Supports/Capacity Building Daily (support item number:  15_615_0128_1_3).

  • Registered Music Therapists (RMTs) are allied health professional with specialised training equivalent to that of an occupational therapist or speech therapist

  • Support can be delivered in both individual and group contexts through NDIS funding

 

Will Music Therapy support my NDIS goals?

In your initial sessions, the music therapist will work with you and/or your supports to assess how music therapy can best serve you in meeting your NDIS goals. Music therapists are trained to work within a multidisciplinary framework to compliment the support of allied health and educational services.
